Bird College is a charity which was founded by Doreen Bird more than 70 years ago. It is one of the leading Musical Theatre Colleges in London and offers conservatoire training to 600 full time students. The college has grown substantially over the last decade and works closely in partnership with the University of Greenwich and Trinity College London, to ensure that student graduates with qualifications that give recognition to the quality of their education and training. Bird College ensures students are taught by the best possible teachers and that they have the opportunity to work with a range of external directors and choreographers, so they receive the most relevant, current, and vibrant opportunities. SSC Associates is the UK’s most elite program designed to elevate the country’s most advanced talent and champion diversity. SSC Associates is a once a month intensive training program offering professional standard training in Jazz, Contemporary, Audition Technique, Commercial and Technique under the carful mentorship of SSCA Director, Sam Stanley. They have two courses on offer – SSC Associates Elite Juniors and SSC Associates Elite Seniors. Students can only be offered a place via self tape audition to ensure only the best can be placed on the program. HIPAed
HIPA ED offers a specialised vocational training programme for exceptionally talented students pursuing careers in performing arts. Many of our students follow a flexi-schooling model, attending mainstream school four days a week and receiving focused artistic training one day per week.
We also partner with Kings InterHigh, a leader in flexible academic education, to support students engaged in intensive training. These students train at HIPA ED two days per week and complete their academic studies around this schedule.
At the heart of HIPA ED is access to industry excellence. Our faculty includes current professionals from the West End, television, and film, bringing real-world expertise straight into the studio. We’re honoured to have Sam Salter as our patron, lending his name and support to our vision.
Through our exclusive partnership with Classified Kids, a top-tier talent agency, every student receives guaranteed representation—opening doors to auditions, castings, and professional opportunities from an early age. The results speak for themselves: over 90% of our students have already worked professionally across stage and screen. At HIPA ED, we don’t just train performers—we launch careers!
Tecnique Specialist Kat Elward
Supreme Technique Teacher
Kat Elward is a technique specialist who trains dancers in London to stay healthy and confident whilst navigating an ever-evolving dance industry. Kat teaches open classes exclusively at Pineapple Studios, providing essential technique training for dancers to employ across all genres of dance and performance. Kat uses training from ballet, jazz, contemporary, pilates and yoga in her classes as well as facilitating the development of a healthy mindset to ensure dancers remain injury free and passionate about their craft for years to come.
Kat also nurtures young performers as Company Director of Spirit YDC, an elite youth dance company also based in central London. Spirit YDC provides a weekly training programme for dancers aged 9-23 covering all genres of dance as well as the soft skills that are essential for healthy development of young performers.
Kat has also developed The Jazz Library. An online catalogue of technique drills specifically designed for dancers to use in their own training to gain strength, understanding and confidence in their movement. These are available at thejazzlibrary.gumroad.com.
Kat is thrilled to be collaborating with Supreme Dance and is excited to spread the principles of inclusivity, joy and autonomy for dancers of all ages and levels.
